Every project begins with a discovery phase. Clients fill out and return a questionnaire that provides the background information I need to begin research of competition and your industry and allows me to determine the exact specification of your website and how it will fit into your overall marketing strategy.
At this stage we identify your users: who they are, what appeals to them and how they should perceive your website.

The first stage of the design phase is to determine the sites structure in the form of a site map. The site map shows the overall architecture of the website and aides in insuring information is presented in a logical manner. Once the overall structure has been outlined the actual design of the website begins with wire framing which helps to identify the key areas of interest, usability and calls to action. The wireframe is then adapted into a full graphical mock up of the website home page and key sub pages.
Phase 3: DevelopmentAfter designs have been approved development of the website can begin. I first select the technologies that will best suit the project (content management system, databases, Javascript plug-ins, etc). All development work is done on the Raster Studio test server. The client is able to view the web page in development at any time as well as track progress on the private project page where I frequently place screenshots and documents outlining changes as they happen so that you know exactly what stage of development your website is at.
Once the website is fully functional any placeholder information will be replaced with the content provided by the client. After ensuring cross browser compatibility and overall quality, analytics code is implemented and the website is ready to be launched.
Please note that after completion the website will not be transferred to the clients hosting until full payment has been received as outlined in the work plan document.
